About four years ago, I suffered a broken neck in two places along with
a fracture of another vertebra. I was able to recover without surgery and
go back to work. Eventually I was able to ride again. But the "slowness"
I began to feel – especially in the heat and humidity of summer – had
different causes. After a heart catheterization, I found that I had a partially
prolapsed heart valve and I was also probably suffering from Mitral Valve
Prolapse (MVP) syndrome. I continued to "slow down," and have become limited to maybe 45 minutes to one hour "work" in summer weather (cutting the grass; grooming the horse, etc.) On visiting New Mexico over the last few years, I found that the dryer climate greatly alleviated my symptoms. As I'm a retired teacher, my "retirement" funds are extremely limited. But we have now found a small place in dry West Texas that, although not as therapeutic as New Mexico, helps my problems considerably. Sixty-six this November, I find that time is at a premium. My Better Half has had interviews for jobs in our chosen city, and if Someone smiles on us, we will be able to complete this move. We CANNOT afford two houses. This is a critical situation for us. The Buyer will benefit.
